Default Cvg crew rest area

Dear Atlas colleagues,

Is there a crew rest area/crew lounge in building 6 in CVG that an offline jumpseater could use to rest a couple of hours after or before riding with 5Y?

Thanks a lot

There is a large room full of recliners and you shouldn’t have a problem finding one. I don’t know if there are hard and fast rules for the bunks, but I would suggest against taking one for etiquette’s sake (i.e., operating crews or hot standby crews) That said, you might be able to snag one. The bunks start to fill up around 2230 local and starts to empty at 0300ish

I love showing up to the hub with a 4 hour break and all I want is a couple hours of shut eye and every bed is taken by a commuter or jump seater. I then get to try and get rest in the sleep apena recliner room...give up...and go back out to the airplane. It's my favorite part of hub flying...

Sounds like DHL needs to enforce something there, maybe even call in fatigued, for actually being fatigued?

I once...not too long ago...worked for a non home-based DHL carrier out of CVG. Was on reserve pretty much the whole time. I kept a car in CVG and would split my time between the YMCA, library, $2 theater, and whatever else northern Kentucky had to offer. At night...I'd watch movies in the sleep apnea room. Then.....at around 5 AM....I'd start hunting for sleep rooms. Problem is.....none of you b*s#a%d$ would sign out of your room...but I'd figure it out.. Sleep from 6 AM til the cleaning crew woke me up around 10 AM. Rinse, repeat, pray for an assignment....good times.

If you're not an employee, you shouldn't be resting in crew members facilities.

You know what he was trying to say...offline JS'ers and guys that camp in there for 3 days because they're too cheap to buy a motel are the problem.
