Really.....DHL screw up going from 115 aircraft to operating 13. Close to 1K pilots furloughed down to 190. Rebuild the airline back to profit and more aircraft. Yes upgrades are slow in coming. With the upgrades planned this yr...all legacy pilots will be in the left seat that want it. That would leave the 2016 hires next inline....5 yrs to upgrade. Take a look at any airline that furloughed 80 percent of the pilot group .....

I personally do not believe the numbers posted are completely accurate. Generally speaking the first 11 or 12 first officers are not going to upgrade to captain (by their choice). Before you get to a 5 year guy there are 16 other f/o's (legacy) who will most likely take the proffers as they are offered. I would expect 10 captains to be upgraded this calendar year (+/- 2) leaving about 6 or so for the following year, 2021. So, without significant change (insert giggle here), it will most likely middle of next year (a year from this post) before a non-legacy first officer has an opportunity. Hope I'm wrong!

ABX Nice New 2-Plane Europe Rotation for DHL
A tip of the hat to my friends at ABX, and lets hope these flights last for a while, but for the moment at least, they're doing a nice 2-plane rotation ORD-EMA-CGN-EMA-ORD. One plane leaves, say, Wednesday morning and returns Thursday evening, while the other leaves Thursday morning and returns Friday evening, and so on. Currently using N317CM and N371CM, but ABX moves planes around a lot among assignments. The recent-but-now-returned-to-Amerijet CVG-EMA turns used a couple of the Pratt-powered 763s (219CY, 220CY and 226CY have Pratts), as well as 317CM.
Would be even nicer if they could get N363CM and N364CM (2 of their 9 767-300s) back on line from maint.

ABX just started a class of 6 a few days ago. For now, nothing else planned in the near future. Of course there is always the possibility for another class or so but since there is no movement (i.e. attrition) I would not expect much.
In general, the company is less than stagnate and may be moving backwards. No growth, no pilot contract, poor working conditions. The pilot market is in turmoil so I respect those that need the job, regardless of its value. Wish I could offer more.
