Default Chris Baker for MEC chairman

Anybody know Chris Baker? He's solid as a day is long. He's as loyal as can be, which is why you won't hear him bad mouth DW. His credentials are immpecable, ALPA 1, FPA, ALPA 2, numerous positions, including sec/treas, so he has fudiarary responsibility and he knows where the bones are buried. Except for that goofy hat he wears, there is no other person better suited to take over and heal the wound created by the current group. Think Dave Webb is irreplacible? Think Chris Baker. He may not want the job and he may protest if you point this out to him but he has been in training for 15 years for this job and we need him....NOW

Isn't he the guy who thinks we all need to wear hats to be professionals? That's enough for me to vote no....sorry.

#1 He will not be DW,s replacement, if he is loyal.
#2 He would spout the party line just like everybody else.

We need new blood in ALPA leadership. If nobody in the MEC had the cajones to disagree on retroactivity than they all need to go. I find it hard to believe that some of the lower block reps are for retroactivity. ALPA is circling wagons.

he is the guy who wants us all to wear hats -- he even wrote an article about how they make you more professional! - Count me NO too!

Are you Crazy....He is part of the problem. We need fresh faces. Anyone that has been in the ivory tower since the FATO days needs to find Greener Pastures.

If you guys really want some fresh blood it can happen. I think a movement is underfoot to do just that. However--whatever happens--you need to talk to your block reps and get involved. The way to make change is run for block rep, and it sure seems like we have a HARD time finding anyone who wants those jobs. Perhaps this will change that a bit...
