June 4th UPS newhire class

You guys have been mentioned in class this week. You are not forgotten. Keep updating your resume with the HR department. One guy in my class even called PD and that got the ball rolling. Play it how you want but I suggest not being too quiet or loud.

I did upload a Resume with the App, but you can't update the app anymore. Its read once when you hit submit, 'scored'(or whatever) and dumped in the database. Then I guess they are pulled at random to begin the process. Smoke and mirrors?

Hmmm...I did the online profile, hit submit, got a quick e-mail telling me I would be contacted, but my app is still active and I can edit. Anyone else the same? Some mentioned they called PD. What's the number?

I would strongly recommend you not call unless you have a pool letter. Then I would only do it if you were in the pool for an extended period of time.
Internal recs are highly recommended but not required. Employees can put them in for you through a system set up at UPS. They will be printed out and in your file when you interview. I know that because I saw them and they were talked about in my interview. I was also asked if I knew others there. The names I mentioned were written down. I have no idea where that went.
The resume upload isn't that big of deal. I couldn't do it on my initial application. After I received the assessment I received an email asking me to email them a copy of my current resume.
Good luck and blue skies

Yeah, looks like I can still edit mine too, but the email response I got from HR said that is a system error. Once you submit it thats it. So I am not really updating the info. No idea why it lets some back in and some it doesn't. I didn't call, I used the "Contact Us" button to send an email to them. Let me know what you find out.

One word of advice to those who have not flown a heavy sim, at least in a while. Try to get some sim time somewhere, it took me 10 minutes trying to figure out trim and power, and especially the forces on the yoke. I used to fly heavies, and remember all that, but the motor skills died a long time ago. At least my ILS went well.
