Emergency War planning weight for the C-141 was approx 343,000lbs...we flew max gross weight of land mines from SLC to the Gulf in the first one....knee high boxes from front to back....smooth landing please, and no smoking.....They werent fused but you still couldnt help but thinking about it!!

1. My first flight in Korea way back when. Every unit was given an alotment of beer twice a year for parties (that would be a big no no now days), and I was assigned to pick up our load of Heinekens from headquarters in Seoul. Pulled out the seats and flew our helicopter with one crew chief so we could fit it all. The CO wanted to know why a few cases were light... duh!
2. Same deployment in Korea. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders... need I say more?
3. Same deployment in Korea. Pat Schroeder. Crew chief wanted to loosen her seat belt and have us go into a sharp turn with the doors open. It was tempting. Exact opposite of #2.
4. Flew a Kuwaiti diplomat to an undisclosed location in Iraq with ALOT of money to help the rebuilding. Like he would have missed a couple hundred G.

I assume if you use the NORMAL max gross you have a better chance of the wings NOT falling off...

I'm not sure that will do it!!! Remember boys (Memphis ANG maint.) take the plugs out of the fuel vents before you refuel!!!! Nice job on fixing the fuel leak initially though. I bet a few hundred purple pilots have seen this pic.

I was in the back of a 141 (not that one) during engine start when that wing fell off! Needless to say, the sortie was cancelled and we flew to Incirlik on a C-17 the next day.

By the way, my most interesting cargo was Trisha Yearwood and her band, right after Desert Storm ended. Flew them into Travis AFB for a post-Storm party that they played at (probably around Jun of 91, before she got really big)

Couple of Lexus and BMW SUV's to Colombia. Best part was taking a break in the plush seats listening to the killer stereo system... at 30,000 feet!

We carried a tiger once to ORD from some place I've forgotten. The strangest part was the woman who picked the cat up. She was covered in tattoos. From her wrists down and neck up were the only areas (that were visible) that were not tattooed.
