Secondly, Pan AMs (or Fedex's or TWAs) overseas crew bases were set up in accordance with the existing use agreements of the time (esp. in the case of PA and TW, to serve Berlin) and not undercut the creation or bargaining position of a foreign carrier. Indeed, look at the companies that helped to birth the likes of Lufthansa or Ethiopian.

No, I did not go into a full history but everything I wrote was accurate. DHL is owned by a German Company.

Moving on. Now that the World is somewhat back to normal, and with all the hiring, I don't know why anyone would choose the "Freight Dog" carriers other than FedEx or UPS. If you have not spent quality time in the DHL circus well, you'd be in for a a bit of a shock. Go jumpseat in an out of CVG some night and see the line up of junk yard airplanes that were parked so many years ago. The paint schemes, or lack thereof, are truly a site to behold. I have to say it, sorry 21, but that red airplane is like holy hell.

The easiest way to avoid any of these issue to is to avoid it all together. And yes, Cargojet flew for Amerijet during the Amerijet strike just like ATI did during the ABX strike. It's always someone pointing fingers at someone else. As I've said, this side of the industry is like my prom dates, just ugly. Stay away from this mess, nothing good ever comes from it and looking at yourself in the mirror at 4am for a few years and watch yourself age is not fun. "Mirror Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all"? "Um, yeah I don't know but crew scheduling is looking for you to go to Tulsa at 5:30 now"!

Because where you land in this business isn't always about what you would choose. Because sometimes, you have to make a move and that's what is available, and FedEx & UPS won't hire you just because you asked nicely. In my failed attempts to move on to greener pastures, I have found that I'm far from alone. There are pilots who I would fly with any day and twice on Sunday who have interviewed with The Big Names but can't get hired while "that guy" (you know the one) waltzes right in the door.

You kind of lumped everyone other than FEDex and UPS into the same toilet bowl. Some of us flew home almost everyday for 25 yrs, made 300k a yr or more have retirements north of 150k per yr, millions in savings and 401k ,plus profit sharing, put kids thru private college, vacation homes, did not have to fly into the middle east, stayed domestic, wife never worked etc, etc. Not all ACMI has been payed like K4 prior to 2016 contract ( horible) or what 21 and Amerijet make now. It's been an unbelievable ride over here. And after 2 passenger carriers with plenty of 4am wake ups...I was glad to leave that behind.

Apologies if I offended anyone but I think UPS and FedEx are like the last two non ACMI carriers left. DHL and Airborne Express are gone or seriously changed. I am assuming you flew at ABX, or do now? Are you hiring???

Hopefully things will only get better as seems to be the case. Btw, I'm not a pro on 21 or anyone but some places have soft pay or work rules etc, not here on APC or not really understood.

He didn't say they were flying Cargojet cargo. He said they were flying Cargojet aircraft. And they are. At least one of the two 7620s are owned by Cargojet.

Also, the guy who was deciding ACMI because he doesn't like the paint jobs -- seriously?

And they are flying DHL freight in it using Cargo Jet call sign...

ABX never left and yes they are hiring...
