These are some of the things I have been listening to in AOC and on the bus. I have done my best to counter this info before the bus stops but I hope ya'll be prepared with what you might want to say when you hear it...

1) We need to get this LOA now...and fight for better later. The scope protection is what we need.

2) If we DONT pass this thing they are going to give ALL of this flying away to 'other' pilots? When asked where they would get these pilots...the response was Italy for Europe and Chinese for HKG. (Note Mesa the commuter airline can't even get Chinese to fly the CRJ's in mainland)

3) STV will go senior and getting inversely assigned will not happen. (This info comes from???)

4) I have not really paid to much attention to it...haven't even looked at it, but I suppose I should...(meaning they MIGHT read it after the vote and get a notice that they are going to HKG for 3 months)

AND my favorite...

5) 3 months...it’s NOT that bad!

The kicker in all of this...most of the guys saying this...when the bus stops and walking off towards 727 or MD's. Amazing!

Most of the Airbus guys seem to be saying the same thing that this is all bad stuff. I am worried that not enough guys waste their time here and are eating up the union spin...we need to get better information out there to the group.

This is the most dangerous one. The one that will get the LOA passed. I tell fellow pilots if they do not know what they are voting on or do not care, then don't vote.

The threats sound is if they come directly out of Art Luby's mouth, your expert ALPA staff attorney who also consults for the IPA. Don't be weak like the UPS pilots in their last contract vote. Stand up for what is right and fight for what you deserve.

I was thinking the same thing about Luby. Whenever a union needs to scare it's members into a vote these days they sem to bring Grandpa Munster out of the dungeon screaming gloom and doom along with "what you got is better than what you have". That is seldom the argument though. The argument should be "yes it is, but is it good enough?"
