Heard through the grapevine that O had a little Q&A on the LOA in the crew lounge today. Apparently his presence was even announced over the intercom - not just trapped by some guys.

Anyone have any nuggets from this?

Also, tells me something if management feels the need to sell a contract LOA. They must want this thing to pass so they can have their bid - that is my take.

My vote? UH- well, let me think about it. OK ---NO!

The company came out and low balled us on what they believed was a 'cost nuetral' LOA ~ what did you expect, thats what companys do. And they were able to convince the union to endorse it thinking that would be enough to get it passed ~ WRONG!

The company forgot that we actually have brains and can tell a POS LOA when we read, see and smell one. I'm still not buying all the spin management is putting on this. I don't think they really expected the BACKLASH that is brewing on property. Its not like we don't have some guys that are not willing to make the move and help this company expand but come on, DO WE HAVE TO PAY FOR IT AS WELL!?!? We shouldn't have to.

I'm still curious why the difference is housing allowance...what quack formula did they use to come up with $1,300 if we wanted to buy something instead of renting??? And they want us to find a FURNISHED apartment with the 2,700+our current mortgage payment in HKG or CDG ~ GOOD LUCK ~ HAAAAAHAAAAAAA

Here's the reason: the company gets a tax write off if we rent but none if we buy. Pretty simple, actually, they get a good deal and we get a pointy LOA in the eye...

Let them eat SIBA...

I asked this exact question at a hub meeting and DW and the rest of them said they didn't know exactly how the compant came up wth that $1300 number. And they voted to pass this on to us???????

Unfortunately, I am meeting a lot of people who have still not read the document.

We must continue to urge others to vote no!

Talked to two today, had not read but leaning yes. Asked them if they read the minority report, NO. Asked them about STV, never heard of it. At least one promised to read the loa.

Take a copy of the LOA and the reports with you on your trips.
It is easy to get guys to read it when they are bored enroute.

That's what I did last trip, works great. Not sure the Captain would have read it otherwise.

This whole thing is starting to remind me of when we were first "optimized".
I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of the "grandfathered" non-members pony up and join the Union. If so, I'll pi** myself laughin'.
