Default FRA to CGN

Has anyone taken the Rhine River to CGN? I have a DH this weekend and I was thinking of taking a Rhine River cruise from Mainz to Cologne.

Thanks,

Sean

I have not taken the river cruise, but I have taken the train, which runs along the river. I highly reccomend this trip.
It is probably a 5-10 minute cab ride to the station in FRA Mainz. It seems like the train ride is 90 minutes or so. And it drops you off just near the Dom in CGN. Another 5 minute cab ride to the InterContinental.
I suggest you go to the grocery and get a baguette, 1/2 pound of cheese and a bottle of wine to help you deal with the stress of Deviating!

Send Manfred an email and ask him how to get from FRA to CGN. His email is: [email protected]. He will know how to get you there. Buy the way, I believe there is an airline employee discount for the cruise.

Thx guys. I've done the CDG-CGN train 3-4 times, but not the FRA-CGN train. It'll be my back up if a river cruise is not feasible. Already sent the email to Manfred for his advice. Just looking for anyone that might have taken a boat.

Do the cruise. You'll like it. Did it years ago when I was stationed there. Don't drink too much ... have fun!

Hey Sean, I was in Mainz two weeks ago. We went on a Rhine cruise from Mainz to Koblenz(except we never made it to Koblenz). Go to the river by the river Hilton and there is a Kiosk there where you can buy a ticket. The first boat leaves at 9:45 am. You can take it all the way to Cologne, but you will have to change boats in a town that I can't remeber the name of. The cruise was great, but you stop in a lot of towns along the way, soo it will take you a while to get to Cologne. If it's a nice day you will have a great time. Good Luck.

Thanks Rich. I'll have three days to get there.
