I'm not buying the scope argument. In my opinion, the LOA doesn't address it out either; it just allows us to operate out of CDG and HKG, much like we already do at SFS. In order to ensure safe reliable operations from day one, they need us to be flying those aircraft.

Starting with the substandard move package, pitiful housing allowance, mumbo jumbo tax equalization, and worst of all, the STV option, this LOA is a huge give back to the company.

It also specifically targets a select group of pilots (single, or couples w/o kids) which I believe is wrong. It should appeal to all 4800 of us. It further divides us and damages our future collective bargaining power.

I'm ready to move forward with the company and dominate the Asian and European markets, but not with this LOA.

As I've said before, it's about freedom of choice and fairness for all of us. I wish our union felt the same way...

Still voting No and not bidding it

Got the gloves on and had them on for a few years. Got them on this month specifically fighting the fight over other issues we (the all cargo industry) have been left behind with regards to all cargo being carved out in the regulatory scheme of safety and security issues. And I tell you, we are like Don Quixote fighting the windmills...occasionally we hit a home run, but Fred's money talks pretty loud in the land of DC.

You are pretty correct in the assumption about us having much of a say though. They are going to do what they are going to do.

We have a very limited say, and none if we aren't unified.

PUI? Initials? or am I not keeping up on the latest internet lingo?

Whats to lose voting down this LOA??

Well for ......

1. We can't be inversely sent on a "foreign vacation" for up to 3 months
2. We can't spend 2 years or more in a FDA homeschooling our kids.
3. We get FedEx to do our taxes for us and tell us how much we owe them!
4. WE can't be sure what health benefits we'll have or how it will be handled until something bad happens.
5. We don't really know what a decent place to rent in HKG or CDG costs until were committed to living there.
6. Since we get for protection from a fluctuating dollar (in recent years, just declining) we don't know what our true cost of living we be, just how long we have to stay and what housing allowance we'll receive (in dollars).


What to gain voting down the LOA??

1. A chance to have our voice heard regarding what we feel is a fair and reasonable package.
2. The chance to remove any provisions that force a pilot to spend for one to three months in a STV earning no pay (but per Diem ) while away from home but not actually flying.
3. A chance to have all FedEx pilots consider a posting in HKG or CDG rather than just those who made a personal decision not to have a family.
4. A chance to set the bar a little higher than the low ball offer we've had put in front of us.
