Work Rules

Just for planning purposes, I was wondering which work rules you guys were planning on giving up on the next contract so that 100-200 FDA guys could get a marginally better economic deal than we have under the current contract?

Lets give up seniority. We'll just have someone grade our landings, and you will be paid and bid accordingly.;)

Not a work rule, but no need to keep it around......VEBA

I'm willing to let VEBA go away.

Delete it from the CBA.

No need for an enhancement to VEBA (add pilots on the seniority list under 53 years old) . That way we will not need to expend negotiating capital to expand or enhance.

VEBA does not pertain to the Junior folks (except we pay for it and receive nothing in return).

(Folks, this is cynicism.........)

Actually, I agree. Away with VEBA!

Just kidding. I might amend it though.

Why do we need VEBA if guys are going to fly until 65? As a young guy, will I even get to benifit from VEBA?

And that my friend, is the definition of a leading question. So...have you stopped beating your wife?

FDXLAG 08-02-2007 04:24 PM

Only a leading question if you haven't already caught him beating his wife. And we have already established you will give up work rules, so why is that a leading question?

Sure those over 60 captains will be much happier when you work with them. That and the warm feeling you get for helping your fellow man are about it.
