Heard that the Atlas 747-400's are going to UPS. This was confirmed by two pretty good sources at both companies. It doesn't sound like the pilots are coming with the aircraft though; just the airframes. The classic 747's will be gone much quicker than first announced. Should be an interesting fall at UPS...

It's funny this comes up. Just last week I flew a captain who said UPS wants more 400's like now, and since the production line was closing down and all the conversion slots were taken up for the next couple of years, the only way to get them is to buy someone!
The first company that came to mind is Atlas. I just hope the pilots come with the deal. But I know how ruthless UPS can be.
Interesting!

767 pilot...
How would the IPA force the company to give the challenge air pilots interviews? That was a business decision of which we were notified after the fact...if you think otherwise, you might have overestimated the power of the union.
