Not really sure how I got the interview. I guess my number just came up. I did have about 5 internal rec and I met the oceanic requirement in the last window. I had may app in for about 2 years. Not really sure what the magic formula is. Never been to a conference. Seems they like a broad mix of backgrounds in the class, although very much weighed towards heavy folks. I don't have any heavy time. My oceanic exp. is in a GIV. Good luck.

Well, I don't think we really have a "senior" domicile for new hires because it all depends on where there's an opening, that's all. Unless you have "heavy" experience then your chances are greater to end up on MD or the 747, but even that is not a guarantee. My entire class (1+ year ago) was split between ONT and MIA; there were a few FE slots and 1 727FO opening in SDF. You see "fewer" openings in MIA just because it is a small domicile. ANC and ONT are growing the fastest, MIA probably the least so there aren’t that many new hires getting assigned to it.

Having said that, all the folks in my class who ended up in MIA love it there and I think all but maybe 1 will keep MIA as their choice #1 when the system bid comes out.

Ps. I just saw Night Hawk's reply and basically I agree with him - MIA domicile is small, that's all.

Is there any classes for Sept? I heard only 30 more new hires for the remaining 4 months of the year.

When I was offered the 9/17 class, I was told there were only 3 slots in it.
