If he did know jack squat about the way some things work here.....whoa!!:)

Just because we do have, IMO, the best flying job in the world, that doesnt mean that all is perfect in Oz. No matter where you work, right is right and wrong is wrong. But it is all subjective, of course.

And, thank goodness, we have a strong union brotherhood/mentality here!

I didn't mean to stir up any anger and apologize for not explaining myself more clearly. I was only disappointed in my friend, who did not read the LOA he voted on. The LOA which affects everyone there, and yet to be there.
I am however, extremely grateful for the opportunity and the honor to be in the pool. FedEx is the ONLY company for which I would leave my current flying job. I've been patiently and happily waiting for the call and look forward to joining the great team.
Thanks for the post FDXLAG.
Good luck guys.

CloudSailor,

Don't sweat the insane clown posse, you have every right to your opinion as do they. You were very clear in your post that it has not affected you decision to come to FedEx, so as the previous poster stated Bluejuice and USN should at least read what you wrote. Even if it did change your mind, so what? It's a job, not a cult and we can all do whatever we individually wish with the offer and comment on too if we wish as well. This reminds me of all the people who got their depends in a wad because some poolie from Southwest had the audacity to turn us down at the altar last year. There's about 4900 of us, most of us are not this excitable so things will be good if you do decide to still come here.

Same principle applies to you as well, if you don't like it, then either:

1. Don't bid it.
2. Suck it up and do it.
3. Go work somewhere else.

Wow are you touchy, looks like we found the nerve. When did I say your opinion didn't count. Of course your opinion counts along with all the other voters that either didn't read or think. Your the one who obviously dosen't like opinions that differ with yours.

Hate to break it to you, but try hauling the jug of shame around doing 4 leg a.m. hub turns all week for the next 5 years, and you'll be begging to fly widebodies in Asia or France for $135-140 an hr (after your 1st year).

It's obvious this guy hasn't even read our current contract - we don't have to carry a jug of shame anymore

Also, believed the MEC line about being stuck and the company hiring foreign pilots to do our work when he cries wolf about being stuck on the panel for 5 years -Oh the Horror - Get a grip man, lots of us have been there done that, some alot longer.

Begging to fly in Asia or Frnce - Do the math man - a pay raise aint always an improvement on quality of life or take home pay when it has strings attached!

Also, I thought we rushed into this LOA thing because it was holding up the MOAB. Glad you 68%ers put on the blinders and leapt in head first. How many weeks has it been since this thing passed and still no bid and the rumors are it won't be much of anything anyway!

CloudSailor, Good luck and hope to see you here soon. Ignore the you can't complain until you been here crowd. Most of em haven't been here that long either!

Gee, how things "work" around here has jack sh i t to do with the woefully substandard LOA that the pilot group was duped into. Anyone can read it, do a little research on line about "apartment" prices in HKG, traffic, etc and realize just how horrible it's going to be.

I welcome aboard a free thinker who won't fall for that MEC Speaks For Me Crap the next times there's a vote for something terrible.

A Very Telling Thread....

....a very telling thread....interesting how some folks think the LOA is just a "done deal" and that we need to move on without discussion/comment of the ramifications of it's implementation....I think those are the folks who viewed it from an almost "theoretical perspective".

Unfortunately, they'll be many guys who have to "live it" very soon....and a lot more in the future, since the company came out and told us that's where our future growth is going to be.

For all those who haven't permanently resided outside the US for 2-3 yrs at a time, it will be quite an experience under this LOA.

I don't think we'll truly know how good/bad the LOA will be for junior folks who bid an FDA, or worse, are direct-hired into FDA, until we get thru 2-3 bid cycles.

Most telling, will be to see how easy it will be to go to an FDA in the future...and more importantly, how easy to get out.;)
