The $2700 Question

If anyone cares to elaborate on this...

How will the $2700 FDA housing allowance work-

Will one get the entire amount and be able to decide how to spend it on rent, which would allow the pilot to keep extra money in his pocket if he finds a cheap rental...

Or, will the company pay the rent directly to the 'landlord' up to $2700.

Just curious...

Save Your Receipts

According to the FDA LOA, the pilot will need to substantiate EVERY PENNY. Receipts will need to be submitted, etc. The $2700. question is the time for "turn-a-round" -- will it be part of the new FOCUS expense report or something different.

The analogy that can be made is "uniform allowance." We receive $150. every year; use it or lose it; if you do not use the entire allowance, the company keeps the remainder.

Hence the wording of the LOA "up to $2,700 a month". So to answer your question...its a big fat NO, you don't keep the extra!

Its ridiculous questions like this that really torque me because it indicates that people did NOT take the time to read the LOA and still voted YES for it.

Uh, CloudSailor was NOT allowed to vote......

This is a repost from CloudSailor.........dated 30 Aug 07

Interviewed in Jan, pool since Feb.
Patiently waiting also :)
Actually, quite happy at my current job. I'd only leave my current employer for FedEx!
There's one other poolie, who I don't think posts here, who was at my interview. Good guy, and also waiting. I believe the only thing that makes him nervous is HKG. He would take CDG or anywhere else.

So, I think he is just trying to predict his future with a borrowed crystal ball, the Flight Attendant's tarot cards, and the palm reader from Beale Street.

Unfortunately, all of the aforementioned might have a better handle on the entire FDA process than <some> of the pilot's at FDX.

When does the voting for the LOA thing end?

When does it end? And if it is over, how did the thing turn out anyway?
If I voted No and wanted to vote yes, can I change it?

Perhaps we can still vote "NO".....just don't bid it!

...especially the left seat.

Cloud: there are a lot of us around here kind of hot and bothered by the way the LOA went down. I'm sure that after reflection PurpleTail will realize he jumped on the wrong guy.

Doesn't change the fact that a lot of guys didn't read the LOA, but what can you do?

Hope you get here soon, and not in an FDA.
