Default Current Depth of the Pool?

I know that a few months ago, there was a poll to find out how many on this forum are in the pool at UPS but I haven't seen anything recently.

I interviewed on 8/31, just received my pool letter yesterday and was curious about how many people are currently in it and how long they have been there. Based on what I have read, I know the letter is no guarantee and that there is no way of guessing how long I will be in it , just thought it would be good to have an estimate on the current depth of the pool.

Thanks for any insight.

The company tells us that it is quite shallow, but it never seems to be shallow enough. Real shame it doesn't just dry up and blow way. Congrats and I hope your time in the pool is pleasant. Try a few of the daquiri's from our pool side hostesses and perhaps some in water black jack over in the Grotto section of the pool.

I interviewed on July 13th and received a pool letter the following week. Since I have interviewed they have announced four classes. Aug 27th, Sept 17th, Oct. 1st and Oct 15th.

The classes have been relatively small and have mostly (if not all) been MD11 and 747 assignments. From what I can see most of those lucky and qualified enought to go to class right away seem to have prior aircraft experience and crossing experience.

Plan on a long swim and try your hand at some Blackjack in the grotto.

Unfortunately, it could be only you and waterskir and you could both end up being there for two years. It is not a great system

Unfortunately, I'll still be in the pool and you 2 will be long gone.
Hope that makes you feel better.

Going for the record.
See ya in Anc, winters coming.

Was that recently at a time when there were classes every month, or did HR stop interviewing due to 9/11 etc and no classes for new hires were ongoing for over 3+years? I remember that back around Jan 2005 the pool was drained and those in the pool who met the new mins of 1000 hrs PIC turbine where asked to reapply. The downside of the draining was to the other poolies, since they didn't make the new mins they were released from the pool and told to reapply when they got the mins. I know personally of a releasee from the pool of 2001 who eventually made the pic mins 3 airlines and 6 years later. Very tough road so I do agree my waiting is hard but at least I'm in the system. Hopefully, I'll be allowed to move on cause some days my arms ache and being in limbo is still not a whole lot of fun.

a2boxhaul,
I feel really bad for you. 2 years is insane. Have you tried air inc fairs to get more face time? or calling HR? I know your not supposed to call HR, but 2 years is a long time. I really hope you are the next one to be called.

Interviewed July 6, 07. Pool letter July 17, 07. No heavy/oceanic experience. 7500 total, 4000 PIC turbine, 121 Check Airman. Another post on this forum states pool is shallow (about 50) all remaining slots in 07 will be ANC based and filled with heavy/oceanic experienced pilots. All others will have to wait until other vacancies become available.
