Am I the only one concerned that our new NC chair is an FO? Seems to me it ought to be a captain for credibility and experience. I don't know the guy, so someone who does might have a better perspective.

And why is it we have pilots negotiating with lawyers? I think we'd be better served by hiring lawyers to represent us.

Geez, I just saw the four-page thread on this subject farther down. Sorry for the double thread. Please ignore.

Apparently so because according to the Alpa message line this week, there were only 5 guys who appled for the job, 4 of them were FO's. Sad maybe but that is the facts.

The one Capt that appled was a MGT guy.

As for Lawyers, we have ALPA lawyers who are there to help and do sit at the table when needed.

But when the rubber meets the road should we reach an impasse next time,
I would rather have the Pilot who will walk the picket line with us )translated to has as much to lose as we do) heading the table rather than a Lawyer.........Thats just one guys opinion.

I hear your concern. There is no way a F/O or S/O could be experienced enough or have credibility. Only a Captain like DM could do this. Why do we even have any F/O's and S/O's in the union. None of them have any experience or credibility.
Just curious. How many Captains are leading the company team? Yes, I am being a smart a$$.

..But does he want to kick my butt?

Seriously--what a TOUGH job. Glad someone stepped up, and I wish him the very best. Glad some of you that know him are enthusiastic. That's good news...

What do you think the odds are of MH staying on the committee seeing as he didn't get to be the chairman?

I'm guessing he'll pass although he would be the only continuity on the new committee.

With or without him, I'm sure the committee will do a bang up job.

I guess I'm still amazed the mustache did not support DM and convince the MEC it was the best choice for the union. They, in turn, would tell the flock this is what is best for them. Anyone that disagreed would be told to run for union office, volunteer for union committees, or shut the fuc up because the mustache knows what is best for you. Then all of the sheep will follow the mustache over the edge of the cliff. However, the mustache will at the last second, veer at the edge, and watch the flock plunge. Then, Redeye will disagree and insult the majority of any opinion of anyone posting on this forum. At this point JetJok will chime in and tell how the cow ate the cabbage and tell you the only way to attack a target is to come in at 240kts and 100 feet. Apparently he has been out of touch for a while. He missed the last few wars and still believes the leadership will let an A-10 takeoff before any combatant has been disarmed of their AK-47 or higher. Otherwise, the Warthog is a target in the desert and has to stay on the ground until real fighters get it done.
And he still believes a F-15 has a missile that the F-16 doesn't have or can employ at the same range. You really do need to retire not only from FedEx but from this board.
