I got shirts from Linda Chow last year and the quality was poor. But I got a free beer out of it.

-I don't know about the shirts, but I have to say that though I'm impressed that Fedex allowed me to buy a leather jacket and expense it...the quality of that thing leaves quite a bit to be desired. In a "previous life", I had a leather jacket custom made by Oxford leather in Osan, S.Korea. I've entertained the thought of having them take apart my Fedex jacket and create an exact duplicate. Only a duplicate made of GOOD leather, and with zippers designed to survive for a few years instead of a few minutes. Has anyone ever had a jacket like this made? What does the company think about doing something like this?

Normy,

You're right. A few years ago, for one of my birthdays, my wife bought me a leather jacket. It was made out of the softest leather you'd ever felt, with every stitch perfectly stitched, the zipper was smooth as glass. In short, it was a magnificent coat. It also cost over $900. However, our leather jacket is actually a work jacket, to be worn on trips where we may get it dirty or torn (s/o's and f/o's doing walkarounds, etc.) However, I'm sure the company would not at all mind your getting an "exact duplicate" made, at your expense, only this time, a duplicate made of good leather. Other guys have had clothing items made and I don't think anyone has been called on that. As for the zipper on your current jacket, can't you send it back to the manufacturer to be repaired? I wonder what the guarantee is anyway?

JJ, I've taken my jacket back to the uniform shop twice now: once for the lining ripping out, and once for the snaps breaking off. Both times the repairs were covered by the warranty and were free. They even shipped it back to me for free.

You do that in Mumbai. Somebody else will have to post the scoop; I haven't done it yet.

Got a lambskin version from Anil at Rodeo Drive Leather in the Oberoi Hotel (Mumbai) 1/2 the weight of the issue jacket and (tailor made) the cost was approx $120. I was with Swoose and they had to kill a couple extra lambs for us!....:D Told a 727 Capt friend and he odered one from Anil online....delivery cost was $10.

Pants from Linda = Good.
Shirts from Linda = Bad.

I gotta admit, I was about 12 days into a 15 day trip at the time, and I didn't mind Linda measuring my inside leg. Does that make me preverted?
