HKG Talior Made Pilot Shirts?

I have 2 HKG layovers this month and I have heard guys are getting shirts made by a tailor there...could use some info. I'm down to one servicable shirt. Thx.

I've used Linda Chow... she's on the list for your annual uniform allowance. I have, however, heard that her quality is declining. No problem with my shirts, though, and I got them last year.

I can't attest to the recent quality of Linda Chow's shirts, but I can tell you that: her shop is about 2 blocks from the hotel; the turnaround time is fairly short; she will ship back to the states, via FedEx; her prices are reasonable; and she always offers you a soft drink when you go there. What's more, she will keep your measurements, and so if you don't get any HKG trips, but still want to order a shirt or slacks, you can email or call her and she'll make them for you, and you can charge it on the company credit card. But be sure to specify what material you want your stuff made out of, because she has 100% cotton, and if she makes your shirts out of that, you'll be spending lots of time ironing them. What's more, they wrinkle very, very quickly. I'd recommend some blended material for shirts.

Here's her info. I got it from the FedEx web site under Uniform Policy and Information.

Unfortunately some crewmembers will have plenty of time to buy shirts while on STV.

Good point! But how does that change my post? Except that those guys won't have to have their new clothes shipped back.

I don't think so ... the union and the company both say the senior guys will bid and there won't be a need for STV!:eek:

Can I still change my vote?

Sniz,

Go to Winston Tailor (the guy's name is Raymond Lo.) From the Sheraton, go out the same door that the car drops you off at. Go left (the way that the cars go to exit.) Cross the street and go into the "Far East Mansions" entrance (it will be at your 2 O'clock position before crossing the street.) Walk about 40 feet (do not stop at the plethora of tailors there to distract you) and go up one flight of the stairs at your right. When you come out of the stairs, go right , and then take your first left. You will see his sign down that hall on your left (WINSTON Tailor.)

He is FedEx approved (can use your Corporate card and expense it under "uniform allowance.") He is pretty familiar with FedEx pilots. His shirts are nice, and he is also approved to make any other part of the uniform (pants, blazer, etc.) There should be some of his cards on the desk in the Sheraton Lobby next to the FedEx computer.

He is a nice guy, does great work, and stands by his product.

Another recommendation for Raymond Lo and Winston Co. I believe his prices are slightly better but the quality is noticeabley better.

Just a note on Linda's quality lately. I had two shirts out of four with buttons missing. She seems to be letting things slid over the last couple years.
