Default UPS: Active VS on file?

I remember somebody stating the difference from active versus on file. Can someone explain the difference. If my letter of rec has not completed the online rec yet, will it go to active once they do? Thanks in advance.

Consult your Magic 8 Ball...the answer will be as accurate as anything you find here. The cure for cancer may someday prove easier than decoding the UPS app system.

Slice is correct. Got a crystal ball handy? From what I understand: active means they are currently looking at your app (good).....on file means it is placed in the database to look at later(not so good). I think this changes frequently due to ever changing screen process.

Good Luck!

Not sure about that one. Its a frustrating process I know. The only way I think you could get a straight answer is from HR directly.......but I dont know many people that would do that.

How long have you had an application in?

Default on file= try again next year

I'm sorry to say it, but most likely you will not ever go to "active" from "on file", and you will need to wait until Jan '08 to try again.
