We had one guy FE that was 79 when we parked the DC-10's. He sat at home for 9 months waiting for a 727 FE class with pay. I flew on the 727 with him.
There was one other guy older than him or same age. Then they parked the 727's. Wonder what his severence package was?

He got unlimited Depends and two-day old crew meals.

Typical Airline pilot retirement package.

The title of this thread will soon be Oldest Captain....especailly since the guys approaching 60 will cry age discrimination when they approach 65....

NW has an FE who is 72, and NW has an FA who was in the US ARMY in world war II . The FA has to be at least 82 by all but the most creative math. AND NW has lots of FA's who are too fat to fit through over wing exits.

I think I passed the 82+ year old in Chicago earlier this week. This lady could hardly walk on a flat solid surface.....She must really love the job I guess??

UAL has a FA named "Iris", whom I believe may still be flying. She's in her 80s, and one day on arrival overseas somewhere (or returning from overseas), the crew was held up offloading because she'd been in charge of the passports and couldn't remember where she'd put them!! Another time she went to work, putzed around in the ramp office, and then they couldn't find her for the flight. Turned out she'd brain-farted and gone home, thinking she'd just FINISHED a flight. Too funny!! But she keeps passing her recurrents, so ...

M.C., friend of B.H. Went to Atherton. Saw him recently and he said you were at Brown. The old gears meshed when I saw your screen name. Don't worry, I can't pimp you for a job (yet), just wanted to say congrats.
