Good thing we opened up ANC as a MD11 Domicle!!! Great for that Domestic Flying. What Idiots. I have heard there will be NO more Vacancy increases in ANC with the MD11.

Which goes along with them coming to the lower 48.

Doubt it, 570 had to be rescued by a classic due to all 3 autopilots inop in ANC. and 571 already has had an engine change. I know this is all growing pains, but really.........

Please pardon a poolie's ignorance, but what is a Vacancy increase?

I guess I could have written it better. No more Vacancy Bids, or new/increase positions for Captains in ANC on the MD-11. No more growth on the MD-11 in ANC. One can still bid the airplane, but in would be awarded only if someone leaves. The company is stopping the growth at 80 captains, which they have already.

I heard that the MD is headed to Boston also. Sorry if that was mentioned above...I couldn't finish reading it due to my ADHD.

I am sure that the way you wrote it was fine, there is alot of 'jargon' used by you guys that I don't understand. Maybe soon I can get a class and learn it. Thanks for the info.

The 3 autopilots inop on 570 in ANC was due to a wiring problem created by Boeing during the installation of the EFB at Paine Field in Seattle. 571 was not in service at that time. The engine change on 571 was part of the normal checkout of the aircraft prior to being released for service. The demonstrated engine change is an FAA requirement. I am aware of this because I have been flying both aircraft since they have been placed into service!

Did it come with the EFB? If so, are you using it?
