There is still an option in VIPS to receive a "Paper Copy" of the FOM.

Go to VIPS and put in keyword search "distribution".

The page has options for CFM, FOM, and now PBB.

Caveate this with even though there's a choice in VIPS, "they" may have decided not to send them out regardless of the selection you make in VIPS?? If that's the case, that may explain why I haven't gotten my new paper copy of the FOM yet??

Not holding my breath......

Exactly my thoughts! We have moved to an entirely electronic paperless system and it is assumed that we all have notebooks. Maybe we do but if it's a job tool it should be issued or heavily subsidized as it is at other carriers.

So how am I supposed to bring my copy of the FOM to my CMV1 or CMV2? Bring the CD ROM or a memory stick?

I hope that's true. I was in RGS today and no one seemed to believe they were going to print the FOM for the crew members.

It's true fellas, your paper FOM is on it's way. I just received my FOM paper copy today. It's in a three ring black binder.

Lightbulb Laptop computer allowance now!

If they are going to make everything electronic then it is time for a laptop computer allowance. I am all for making everything electronic but it can't be done without ALL of the pilots having laptops. There is already so much info that is only available online that it is nearly impossible to fly an international trip without a laptop. When you factor in our short one hour show times for trans oceanic flights and getting dropped off directly at the airplane at most places overseas, how are you supposed to check everything out if you didn't start at the hotel?
Instead of going through the hassle of issuing one and hiring a bunch of IT guys to maintain them and then give us some piece of junk, why don't they just give everyone 1,000 bucks to go get there own? It makes sense to me and I know that other airlines have done this in the past.
Seems like a simple solution to me.

There goes that common sense rational thinking again.......

Sounds like a good plan, which is why you will probably never be a manager here.
