Default Astar

I was wondering if anyone could give some information about Astar air cargo? Anything at all would be helpful. Is it difficult to get a job here? Thanks in advance!

Do Not torpedo your career and come to Astar! You will be an engineer for 8 plus years and sit 4ever on Hot Reserve in the middle of pigville, OH. Keep flying and get on with a real company that offer growth and the ability to upgrade. In addition we tried to get released from mediation so we could strike (97.4 % of the pilots voted for it) Go to FedEx, UPS, ABX, World, Gemini if you want to fly boxes. Just do your career a favor and steer clear of Astar.

Its "difficult" for Astar to find people that would actually take the job... It makes me wonder what the interview board talks about after the interview. Are they laughing and thinking someone actually wants the job? The new hire class that started last week had someone resign already after hearing two 727's were being parked (supposedly the pilots are the only employee group to have this communicated to).

The hiring mins are down to 1500 TT... Years ago if you didnt have 4000TT with 1000 turbine PIC and 3 recommendations you didnt have a chance.

The company put out a memo today asking for people to recommend their "friends"... I dont know anyone I dislike enough.

ya know your 8s would go good with ati's 8 (both 70 series) and their 76's would go with our 76's...and the polar 74 for the long haul....hmmmmm.....one big happy family??????? Ya know its not that far fetched.

Sounds good in theory... The Astar pilots seem to be respecting Joe Hete far more than Downhill D'assburg. I would love to see one large company that DHL couldnt pit against another.

That's true. Hete's no prize either, but at least he does something other than hang out in MIA.
