Default No more ANC MD-11s

Looks like it the 747-400 from here on out, at least from the bid. All the ANC probies got -400s, supports the theory that they're not going to grow the ANC MD-11 base.

UPS did not screw new hires out of leather jackets. I find it incredible that people like you try and paint the company as evil because they did not issue leather jackets to new hires. Intially we all were going to have to pay for our own jackets. But after the contract was ratified, Rick Barr agreed to pay for a standard Perrone jacket for all pilots on the payroll as of 9/1/2006 from his budget. This was to say thanks for approving the IPA contract. There was never an intent to not provide jackets for pilots hired after 9/1/2006.

Currently an agreement has been worked out for pilots hired after 9/1/2006 to use the point system to be applied towards the purchase of a Perrone jacket. Each uniform item is allotted a certain number of points. While this does not completely resolve the issue maybe this will slightly appease people like you that try to paint the company as too cheap to purchase additional jackets for pilots hired after 9/1/2006. We agreed to purchase a specific number of jackets with the initial contract with Perrone.

Hopefully we will work something out in the future so that like the current uniform policy all unifom items will be provided for......free of charge. I would like to think the point system application is a temporary fix!!!

Since when? The last I read said that the company was not allowing anyone to use their points towards a coat as promised.

The agreement has be to completed between CINTAS and Perrone. CINTAS provides all uniform items except for the Perrone jacket. Once they work out the agreement of how to apply the points between them, orders will be allowed. I can't give you a time frame for that....sorry!

Segataki,
Come on, it's just business. We all like UPS as much as you do. We're all still here. We get frustrated at the quirky uncle sometimes, but he is still our Uncle <g> Are you really any different?

Default What are the results?

There are some of us waiting for the chance for an interview who currently fly the -400 in and out of ANC. Does this displacement bid result in infilled positions that will require hiring. If your displaced at UPS are you required to stay in that position or base for a certain period? Sounds like some would transfer back to the lower 48 at the first opportunity.

PS.
Sure would like to be in "Brown" and could care less about buying a leather jacket out of my own pocket.
