Default Cgn

Never been to CGN - but on my way. Did a search on here and saw that the hotel had a good gym. Does it have free weights or machines or both?

Any good site seeing in walking distance?

Gym is great. Actually a local health club that you have access to as a guest of the hotel. Free wts, machines, treadmills w/tvs etc.

Health club is attached to hotel building but a separate business. To get there you go to the 5th or 6th floor of the hotel and take a dedicated elevator down to the health club. Club has free weights but in limited quantities. Dumbells only go up to 32 kilos. Mostly selectable machines and cardio. Don't walk into the girls area and work out by mistake!

You missed most of the "scenery" from the summer but I would walk out the hotel and take a left and then another left and walk along the side of the hotel until you get to the Hard Rock Cafe at the end of the bldg. and take another left and go about 1 block and hang a right onto a main shopping street with a lot of pedestrian traffic. You can take that down about 6 blocks to the Dom or big cathedral plaza area and walk all around there. Starbucks is down in that area. Also down by the river are some bars and resturants to take a look at. If you go on a Wed. through Saturday night you might want to look up Flyer's bar. Hotel staff may be able to show you on a map. It's owned by a Luftwaffe pilot who went to pilot training at Shepherd AFB. Place is full of flying stuff and has a tiki bar setup out back. Cool bar actually. It's out the hotel to the right about 8 blocks and then you cross the street and go down a small street to the left. I don't recall the street names so you may have to ask at the desk. The owner of that bar was including free drink cards in our welcome pack about a year ago so maybe someoine at the desk will be familiar with the place. I'm not 100% positive on the name of the bar.

The hotel gym is small. Stair climbers work well. The one treadmill squeaks everytime your right foot lands. TV and remotes are in each room. There are towels there. I've been very lucky to run into eye candy each trip to the gym there. The eye candy doesn't seem to work out there, but they do come by and see the gym and who is working out. I don't think me or the gym is what they are searching for. Gym is on the first floor and you need your room key to enter.

If you're looking for traditional scenery the Arc_de_Triomphe is a short walk.

He's asking about CGN...not CDG.

The Arc is a short walk from CGN (for the Germans). At least it was back in the summer of 1940.
