Airnet Information
Hi everyone,
I have a friend who just got called from airnet. I dont know anything about them and I would like to help him out decide if he should go for it. Any airnet pilots there with some quality of life inputs. Thank you. if you were to choose between airnet and skywest which would you go for?
thank you all for your time.
My friend lives at the San Francisco Bay area.

I am a recently departed AirNet guy. There are good and bad with AirNet like any other company. It really depends on what your friend wants to do. Unless he gets the Caravan run out of BFI, he or she probably will be based on the east coast. Upgrade time from the props to the right seat of the jet is about 10-12 months and from the right to left seat in the jet another 12 months. Runs are mostly Monday through thursday night and you are home everyday. First year you get two weeks of paid vacation and holiday pay if you have to work on a holiday. They just increased the pay so a current guy will have better info. The flying is great. Flying at AirNet will make you a sharp pilot. The planes might not look the best but they are well taken care of. If it is broken, it gets fixed. Between Skywest and AirNet they are both good places, it all depends on what each person is looking for. If I had to do it over again, I still think I would go to AirNet over a regional. If you have any questions, let me know.

I used to work at AirNet. In my year and a half there, I learned more than I have in the rest of my career. I really liked working there, but decided to go to CHQ for QOL issues. I would have had a nice QOL in the props if I had lived in base, but it wasn't too great commuting. In the jet I was a floater (permanate reserve and QOL was terrible). I don't regret leaving, but I did enjoy working there. If your friend wants to stay out west, go to Skywest. Not many bases west of the Mississippi at AirNet.
