Although we can only guess what the meeting will be about (as our MEC only tells us about the mtg but not what is about), I think the meeting will only discuss the LCA problem the company has. It appears no one wants to be a 757 LCA and NOT get widebody passover pay. Hopefully, our union will not just roll-over again and give the company what they want for "peanuts" for us.

It's probably going to be a rubber stamp meeting, but at least it will lock in some of enhancements. Hopefully it irons out a lot of the grey areas, like pay for ground transportation longer than three hours, the official start date of 2 year timing for STV (for all aircraft types), locking in no STV for current vacancies as stated only in Q&A, among many other holes. However, I know that's not realistic.

Are you kidding? ALPA were the folks who were telling us what a great deal this was in the first place. If you think we are going to get any help from them you are delusional.

If you are in LEC 22 you have until Dec 10 to vote for Albie and Vic. If you want to vote for the other guys the voting opens Dec 11th.

I hate to say it, but I bet it is a rubber stamp. The union will just take all of the "extras" the company is offering and just make them put in writing, thus the side letter. I am sorry to say, this union leadership is very weak!!!

I know it is over the top but it is how I feel
,
The only "business relationship" management has for DW involves a purple miniskirt and a street corner. He sold the LOA to us like crack wh0re needing a fix. Maybe if you ask him nicely the next time you see him working his track in AOC he will show you his "Maliniak" tattoo.

Hopeful
I'm hopeful:
1. We have a new negotiating chairman, he is a sharp and motivated.
2. The FDAs aren't filled, they went very junior, if the company expresses concern about this then we have leverage. The fact that they asked for the mtg means leverage exists....will we have the guts to use it? Dunno know...
At least our leadership told us about the mtg.....better than the LOA negotiations.

Guys - it is over. The LOA passed.............We lost. Two thirds of the guys we work with voted FOR it.
The message line doesn't provide any reason for so much hope for a positive resolution to all of the LOA's ills. The MEC is just looking to have the company put the carrots they have dangled into writing. I have seen on this forum where some have said that there should be no direct dealing - it should be in writing. Well, we let them direct deal. Now that the bid is closed, we want those promises in writing. Like was already said - rubber stamp.
Prediction= "Clean up bid" early next year to see if any FDA FO fish are biting yet prior to hiring.

Alpa?

ALPA didn't tell us anything.
We are ALPA and we voted in the FDA LOA that the current MEC-1 told us was the best deal we could get and lock in the "scope protection" that came with it.
I agree with you if you are saying the MEC and its' communications were way too positive on the merits of the LOA. However, we are ALPA and we are the dopes who approved the LOA.
The remedy in my mind is not only to elect a more new MEC, but also to get the membership involved. There was a high level of apathy after the contract came to vote. The membership should be just as interested in looking for information as demanding to be spoon fed information.
The people who voted for the LOA because "it won't affect me" didn't have the big picture. It is all of our jobs to give the big picture. I want to bid an FDA but will not take a major lifestyle hit to do it.
Vent over.
