Do you really want to work for an Airline that purchased a bunch of 32 PLY tires and made a branding iron and stamped them 34 PLY so they could takeoff at Max Weight?

Unbelievable, are they the worst of the bottom feeders? Because if what was said is true I still cant believe it, although I'm not saying your wrong it's just hard to fathom. I guess safety doesn't mean much.

It won't let me PM you. I think you have to have a certain number of posts, but I don't know what that number is.

I meant A-check and this was a few years back. They had two of their birds locked down by the vendor that did the checks.

Why would vendors be doing A checks when that can be done by line MX?

It's cheaper than having your own staff, tools and facilities to hire someone than to do it yourself. Now if you have a larger fleet, there is a point where it is more advantageous to do your own checks. But TDX is no where near this point.

Most of the A checks ( at least for 747) are done by line MX at TDX.
