For FedEx Jumpseaters
#11
I believe it's 4-6 in the back of the 300/310 with 1-2 more up front. They are by far the most commuter friendly airplane due to having many jumseats. The -10 is going to have 2-4 in the back with 1-2 more up front.
Unfortunately we can not carry INTL jumpseaters at this time, even with CASS. The issue being that all of the jumpseats are considered 'cockpit access,' even the ones behind the IRCD.
Good luck, it's always fun to have offline jumpseaters and to pay back the gratuity that the pax carriers show for us.

I hope it will work out for me. Tonight it will not. Many of our arrivals into ORF get in after the departure of the last FedEx flight out. And long after the last possible passenger airline out. Nevertheless, thanks to all for the information. It will surely come in handy sometime.

I've never been offended when cookies aren't brought. I perosnally think we should be thankful we have j/s privilidges with major carriers.

International Cargo Jumpseat
It's not allowed. CASS is for off-line, domestic, flightdeck access only. Since the whole plane is 'the flightdeck' as far as the TSA is concerned, you have to be verified to access it. Since CASS is not approved for international ops, Fed Ex can't carry you - there's no other verification method at this time that Fed Ex will use for off-line pilots (non Fed Ex pilots).
Blame the TSA. Hopefully CASS will be approved for international ops someday.

Actually, it's not the TSA, but FedEx, that chooses not to allow offline jumpseaters internationally. True, CASS is domestic only, however, there is another program that most cargo carriers use that allow offline international jumpseating. There are several other threads explaining why. If you need to get to/from overseas on a freighter, you can use just about any US-based Part 121 cargo carrier that flies internationally (i.e. Southern Air, Kalitta, Polar, Atlas, World, Evergreen, etc,), just not FedEx or UPS at this point. Contact your jumpseat coordinator for more information.
Good luck in your travels.

I wasn't even going to bring that part up, but you 100% correct. We're very luck to have the j/s option with the airline community. Asking for cookies from off line j/s'ers is not only arrogant but completely unjustified. We're again very luck to have j/s privileges, we look at is a golden nugget where as everyone else looks at it as a right.
If Fedex canceled offline j/s'ers it wouldn't make but 50 people sweat, if the other carriers canceled theirs it would cause major discomfort around our system, commuters and in base personnel would be affected.
