It's to be delivered in the fourth quarter. I'm sure there is some flight testing (performance proving, et.) that will need to be done on it first as I don't think it takes 7+ months to build a 777 these days.

I'm not sure how big the freight side is at AF. The 777 is probably a safe bet vice the A380F or for the 747-4/8 due to costs.

I guess because the A380 doesn't come in es-cargo flavor yet.

Air France has a very strong presence in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia, not such a surprise.
We do alot of work for AF from time to time, they take widebodies into places that most have never heard of.

I think Albie was thinking it was ironic, that Air France is the launch customer for the U.S. built 777 freighter. With all the hoopla over the A380 freighter.
