I wouldn't give up another flying job to come to ABX right now either. I agree with rollin. This is the most uncertain it has ever been in my 11 years here.

I heard we got approval for 2 more 76's to opperate in KIX. That would mean at least another 12 crews, possibley 16 more, depending on the amount of flying.

At least one guy withdrew before starting class. Another failed and has returned to the MIA domicile.

We are supposed to have 3 767s in service in Japan by mid-year and 5 by year end. The current schedule package shows 11 flying lines for the 2 aircraft presently in Japan. There is some slack in the those lines, but not enough to add another aircraft much less 3 more IMHO.

Talked to a chief pilot. The reason for the delay on the third airplane and next proffer is because ANA hasn't completed the bureaucratic process for landing rights in Vietnam. That is supposed to be the route for the third airplane. No mention of a fourth or fifth plane or where they would fly to.

Hey rollndadice....

I sometimes "lurk" over on the ABX Yahoo board, (disclaimer:wouldn't recommend that to someone if you have a weak stomach), and saw something you, (guessing it was you) posted regarding a "post mod" on 39 DC-9's. Is the "post mod" the mod for the windshield "frame" on the 9, or is it something else? One other thing, what is a 767PC? What's the PC stand for?

Thanks.

The PC aircraft are the ones that are not the SF "superfreighter".

The 767-PC as previously stated is DHL speak for a 767 with C containers. The mod I referred to is the cockpit window mod, which was referred to me as the "post mod". I think it refers to the window posts, or something.

I love the yahoo board. so much truly good info there, huh?

Thanks Rolln',

I hadn't heard it called the "post mod" but I thought that's what it was.

Ah yes, the Yahoo board. What a bunch of bull butter! Once in a very blue moon, there might be something truly of value for those concerned, but mostly flamebaiters all the wasy around. It used to be a little better, but holy smokes it's mostly just steaming pile now.

Anyway...thanks again for the education.

Cheers....good weekend.
