UPS Recommendation question
I want to recommend someone who will apply as soon as the window opens....should I wait until they have their application in or go ahead and put the rec in before they have applied since the window is closed?
Thanks!

Have you tried doing one for your friend yet? I would think there has to be something that you do on your letter that ties it to your friends application, like a SSN. I would think you couldn't do one unless they have an app on file. Pull up the recommendation letter and have a look.

FP,
I would wait because the computer system they are using may not correlate your rec to anybody if they haven't applied, and then it may toss it. That would be a huuuuuge time waste for you if you really do the rec completely (it has taken me a few hours in the past).

The recommendation is time consuming, but worth it for someone you know and like.
The person that recommended me had known me for a long time (since 1986) and only flew with me a few times. I got hired.
Civilian, we hop around on crews a lot too ...
