Being an ex-regional guy, I still keep up with current events in the regional airline industry. I've heard rumors that during the last hiring phase we hired pilot(s) from GoJet airlines.
For those that are unfamiliar, G7 was an alter-ego UNION BUSTING tactic used by Trans States Holdings to undercut our ALPA brothers at Trans States Airlines. This technique was also used against Mesa pilots by Ornstein via Freedom Airlines. You can do a search for more information about these scumbags.
That being said, have you flown with anyone claiming GoJet? If so, how did these guys slip through the cracks of our entirely 'pilot' hiring board?
P.S. ANC pilots still holding strong on the DPs. Keep up the good work!

AHHHMAYYZING.......Just won't ever be able to let it go.
It must be absolutely horrible to not be able to enjoy what you have.

I have no dog in this fight; my concern is (and has always been) the continued welfare of this forum. I urge all participants and potential posters to thread lightly. Resist the urge to hurl insults or engage in name calling or otherwise post comments that do not contribute to the thread.

Not letting it go? Undermining our entire pilot group in this country for personal greed? How does one let that go?
We all make choices in our lives. Did you make ones that let you sleep soundly at night?

I've heard that rumor as well. I have heard that the one in question is still currently in the pool / short list, and hasn't quite made it in a class yet. I have been trying to get the word out to our "Pilot Hiring board" that this is not like the "Freedom" thing that was settled and there is another side to the G0Jet side of the story.

There are Gojet pilots at UPS. I don't believe management cares. What cracks do you speak of? Do Fedex pilots have complete control over who gets hired?
I once had a UPS Capt email me about what I knew about Gojet cause his son wanted to work there. I told him what I thought about it based on what I know from the net. He proceeded to tell me I was full of crap cause only whiners and complainers post at aviation web sites. Then I told him if he felt that way then it was dumb to ask a moderator at an aviation website what my opinion was in the first place....
I'm sure his son is at Gojet as we speak and will have an inside track at UPS in a few years.

Just to clarify.
Even though the original pilots at Freedom were eventually re-integrated into the Mesa seniority list, they were still the ones who gave Jonathan Ornstein the tools to destroy Mesa's CBA and intimidate the pilot group with the choice of:
vote for a highly concessionary, backwards contract, with the worst work rules in the industry, or lose your job...
The original pilots at Freedom went there to gain seniority, to undermine the CBA, to help Ornstein build his 'regional empire' and to allow the work and effort of thousands of pilots over the years, who had built the company to where it was, to be destroyed and flushed down the toilet.
Even though I love my job, enjoy the environment I work in, work on forgiveness daily, and don't hold personal grudges against anyone... I still have a professional responsibility to myself and to my colleagues, to not let these type of pilots contribute to the decay of our career.
I have forwarded the original, pre-ALPA, Freedom list to my current carrier's pilot hiring department and also personally handed it to several of the Captains I've flown with who conduct interviews, as well as FO's who I know are involved in the interview process. I hope the same thing is done at FDX, and other carriers as well.

de727, isn't there a policy against nepotism at UPS? Does it not apply to pilots? Just curious.
