Can we revise the above term to "non-paying, non-member"? I am seriously consdiering becoming a "dues-paying" non-member if ALPA decides to endorse any candidate for president. Fire away.

I will be right after you. The only draw back I see is being unable to vote on issues, but that really doesn't seem to matter anyway.

OK, so you will be non-member herkdriver. Unless you were a NM prior to August 2006, any new NM is a dues paying NM. ALPA will endorse a candidate just like every other union in the country and it will probably be a Dem. Those are just the facts. It's not new, so I don't see why you say IF ALPA endorses.

Post away Bandit. Not only is it your right to express your opinion I think it is your obligation. Particularly since you expressed yourself in a professional manner. Where are we as a union (and as a pilot for that matter) if we can't identify our weaknesses, fix them, and get better? I don't mind if the Capt debriefs me on things I could do better on, as long as it's constructive...but mostly we don't have that kind of time to cover it all.:) The union should be the same way, and by and large I think the leaders do want constructive comments i.e. they beg for email, want lots at the hub turn meetings, etc. I'd like to see them send out a questionaire soliciting opinions on the top 5 or 10 issues facing the pilot force or what we want to see in the next contract.

bandit, many of us are frustrated just like you are. just tired of hearing all of the excuses out there by the DP fliers. i know this system isn't the best, but it is what we have. that's why i give albie so much credit (and called all of my buds to vote for him).

keep the faith, and yes, bandit, this can be a good forum for discussion. i think we just jump on each other like we were in the squadron over beers.

maybe there is a better way to do this.....any good ideas?

Individually assessing DP's on your own criteria is simply a selfish excuse to fly them if you see fit (plusing up the line, or any other selfish need). Followership is a lost art. all thinkers ("my own criteria") seem to think they are smarter than than average bear. Bottom line is........if your a member, toe the line.......if not, then you are revealed as what you are......a non-member in members clothing, hiding until your own selfish needs overide your need for anonimity. No more ....no less.
