Just received email clarification on this issue from the HKG ACP. The $10K is paid regardless of how you find your new residence. The hitch is, under the current document (whatever it is...I haven't personally seen it...) you get the $10K paid directly if you use Cartus/Proway (the company vendor in HKG). If you don't use the company vendor, you pay the $10K yourself and get reimbursed.

There isn't a current document. The hitch is, the domicile is open, a crewmember attempted to use the "benefit", and was denied. Now Mgt/Union is scrambling as usual because nothing has been thought out or written either by the company or the Union. Subic Pilot, can you share that email clarification? Hope there are lots of details in the email concerning how you apply, how you receive $, how you repay, documentation necessary, and numerous, numerous etc's. . . . . Cos

Sounds like a good opportunity to use the company credit card. 10K has been charged before.
