There was a recent message line which I'm sure you all read that said that the levelling software was not working for CIA trips and you need to call CRS to have your levelling corrected.

I had a M/U trip which carried over into the next month, and was awarded reserve for the following month. Low and behold, I was leveled for it. Tried to get them to take away my leveling to no avail.

Another thing about cia trips. Say you have a 10 hour CIC and you pick up a 16 hour CIA trip as make-up. It's not a "bonus" six hours like in a trip trade situation. They take the extra six hours out of your make-up bank. After you fly the trip, if you had any block-over-8 capture, they go back in and take more out of your make up bank. I had a 24:xx CIC and picked up a 30:xx CIA make-up. It ended up having almost 4 extra hours in block-over-8 pay. My bank got hit for 34:xx hours. Not a big deal (nice paycheck and I have plenty in my bank), but something they don't advertise (or I was too slow to understand.)

Here is what finally happened with my CIA request. The system stated that I had 27.48 hours to make up with a maximum of 33.48 possible. The trip I received pays 33.06 and has 4.04 hours of carry-over. I reviewed my April pay summary and it only reflects a total CIA of 29.02. Thus, it appears that any carry-over assigned does not count against your possible make-up total. Am I missing anything here? Don't you love how easily this is spelled out in the contract!

Check your march summary I'll bet you find the missing 4:04.

If the trip starts in April, the carryover is in May. Did you check your May summary?

Yes, it is on the May pay summary as carry-over. My original question is that does the carry-over portion of the CIA trip count against your possible make-up total? From my second posting the 29.02 figure is listed as Total Trip CIA on the pay summary page. This seems to tell me that in theory I could have asked for another 4+ something hours (if that were possible) in the month of April.

It doesn't matter what month it goes into. The 27:48 + 6:00 is the max the system will allow you to pick up with your CIA. You could have asked for an additional 4 hrs in April...But, you would not have got that carryover trip into MAY.

It's the dropped trip + 6hrs, out of your make-up bank, period.
