5 total, and yes somewhat surprised !

I am now beginning to wonder for how long ... I haven't packed my bags and family for a move to ONT just yet. But we are considering getting the house sold for the eventual ANC bomb. Since I don't do commutes very well.

I could be wrong, but we may be the only remaining 2007 hires in a front seat in the lower 48 ...

I haven't looked at a seniority list to know for sure

From what I have been told, and from those who have been here a while, I would say no hiring this year. In fact, many believe that we are in another cycle of no hiring for maybe 2-3 years. I hope that is not the case, but it appears that may be the reality.

It certainly looks that way to me. For those of us going to FE it is not a pleasant situation.

CC,

I was surprised it cut that deep, but I looked at the numbers and saw that I am junior to every non-FE in the lower 48 save those below me in ONT. I was a Feb07 hire.... I think I'll have 7 below me in ONT. Looking at ANC real estate...the family and I fully expect to go. It would have almost been easier if we got yanked now, just to get it over with.

TRUE, so true ... I feel the same way. Those 7 below you must include me and my 4 friends from March '07 !

At least we are not on probation sent to the panel ...

But the way I see it is there are 20+ more classic FOs that will have the seniority to bump the 20 most junior out of anything in the lower 48 when they park the airframes after peak.

Maybe I should be looking into ANC real estate too ...

I was just thinking today: you guys going to the panel may not be there very long. In the next bid, depending on the amount of ANC vacancies, may end up right back where you started from. The older FO's will upgrade to ANC CA vacancies, thus creating additional spots in terms of recurring vacancies.

Other than that, I'm sorry you guys have to go through this. Hopefully, it will be short-lived, but those of us here on the -8 welcome you! We'll take care of you.
