All cargo holds (on cargo only aircraft) which are not accessable inflight, which would include those loaded with cans are now Class E compartments. This requires fire detection. Previously, there was Class D compartments, such as the bellies of airlines and cargo aircraft...the airliners were upgraded to Class C which has detection and suppression, while the cargo guys got Class E, detection only.
