UPS-What's new?

No news = good news
No news to report here, not even rumors.
However, in my 11+ years experience, no news = good news. When there is no substantial news, loose lips run rampant in the training center and among the ACP group rumoring what could happen in the future. However, when there is real news to chew upon, executive level and upper mgmt remind the rank and file management NOT to spread word of anything overheard in the office. That's when the rumor mills run dry.
Let's we hear about hiring and aircraft acquisitions in the near future.

The Airbus lines will be cut down to 2 in Europe this fall. That will result in an influx of A300 crews since less are needed to fly domestic. However, more 767s will be going to Europe. They'll really have to start hiring when the 767s start getting here.

LJ,
Start hiring ? Or, more transtion training for the bus crews according to the first sentence of your post. Just curious, all we get up in ANC is yellow snow, but not a lot of news.

The latest on the 747-400 fleet is that the company will not have enough crews to fly the projected flights for the 400 fleet this summer. The training center can not train the number of crews required to fly all of the scheduled 400 lines.
It must be that dreaded airline disease......never train or hire an adequate number of pilots to cover your scheduled lines of flying!!!
