Default UPS Rumor Control

The IPA moved the Hooterville GMM to 5/22 and 5/23. Any idea why? Some big announcement this week?

Just wondering.

I haven't heard anything at all. If I had to guess, it is due to some sort of scheduling issue...

Yeah, not enough of them were able to drop UB on their lines and stay home, it takes a 2/3 total drop to have a meeting.

21 months of committee work, haven't dropped a UB yet. No one on our committee has dropped one yet. We schedule all our business around our lines. We work alot. We take pride in not costing you or myself money. (Full disclosure: We have used paper though <g>). The Grievance folks, etc are there all the time. They must drop UB. Really a full time job and they are looking for more volunteers so they can go back to the line. EB is always in meetings with various committees, UPS labor, implementation, etc, etc. I wouldn't want to be on the EB because it would be a cruddy quality of life, work 5 days every week, they share being on duty 24/7. I suspect a conflict of meetings caused the change, call and ask.

Cool

No way! The package cars didn't get any cool fuel savings mods so no way the 757/767's will!

Bad idea. If we get them, the rampers will knock them off ala 747 classic as the airplanes get marshalled into their parking spots.

There's 3 8's in storage on ramp 9 that I count. Guess it's short-short-term storage since they haven't made their way out to the desert yet? Heard 10 rampers got the boot and the wing will cost ~$8 mill to fix on the 747.
