Herndon is an expensive area. He should have to find a place for $2700/mo. I'm sure he can find a nice apartment for that if he rooms with some UAL RJ pilots.

"He wouldn't if he was the recalled ex-MEC Chairman.. that's why he shouldn't be left until his term is up. Harder to get a national position if you've just been recalled."

I've read this sentiment (recall DW) in a few areas but I have not read a posting on how it is triggered. Does anyone know? Sign me up.

I saw a petition you could sign, but it was in Subic.

block reps... they are the ones that need convincing... it's the inner circle that's going to be tough to crack, conflicting loyalties?

I answered a question about this on our own ALPA boards if you are interested...

A failed LOA vote will send the proper message to the block reps that DW needs to be gone immediately. After the LOA fails, the MEC will understand that day to day operations are impossible with DW leading. After DW is gone they can put the LOA up to be voted on again. Plausible????

To me this is just like any other democratic organization. When the leader does not deliver for the majority, it is time to be off with his head figuratively speaking. The only limiting factor is the apathy of the voting members of the organization--a significant question with our crew force.

I have to admit that I've not been a big fan of DW for sometime now. Until today I've would have been happy to see him resign immediatley. But today, I decided to go check out Albie's post in the ALPA BB. If what he says about DW on that BB is true, then maybe I've misunderstood his motivations. I may still not agree on some of the things that transpired, but I think I would be inclined to let him finish out his term. Before I get jumped for this statement, go checkout Albie's post on the ALPA BB. Just my opinion.

Well I like Albie and normally agree with most of what he's posted. I think Albie is a great block rep and a wonderful breath of fresh air...

...but we're going to agree to disagree on this one. I personally don't feel he should have done it, but after doing it claiming it was "the right thing" and trying to sell it as a great act of defiance on his part. The timing of it and the way it was sold afterwards was pure crap. After the vote, the MEC comes out with a letter of support. Horse is out of the barn and we're trying to make it sound like a planned event? Not buying it. He divides the crew force and we need someone to bring the pilot force together. He's not it.

But... Albie is normally right... he's just not normal on this one.

Hey, do you have the address of the White House? Oh, never mind, there's only 7 more months to wait.
