Default Fewer shipped boxes??

On a recent DH, I got to talking with the FedEx guy sitting next to me...He said that they may be in trouble because fewer and fewer boxes are being shipped. From my understanding, though domestically there is a bit of negative growth, international work more than makes up for it?

Say it 'aint so!

No that's completely true but any time during a recession / economy slowdown volume of shipping will go down. Our International exports have gone up considerably.

people definitely order less IPODs (shipped from China) during a slowdown.

I guess when they have to choose between portable entertainment and filling up the car, it loses.

But I jut got my first, and can't believe I waited this long. Much better than my former MP3 player.

I was told by one of the ACPs that UPS' domestic air piece count is down approx. 100,000 vs. last year. This is due to shippers using ground delivery vs. air delivery. The volume is still staying with UPS, it's just being shipped ground vs. air. The deal with DHL will fill the unused capacity of the air network. The amount of additional aircraft required will be dependent on the final deal and how much actual volume UPS is able to ship on airplanes vs. ground.
