Since we know who the SCP is....what does his assistant do for 300K a year???

Okay, I'll bite.
Its easy to shoot at Len and Orlando. They have an office. They have a nameplate on the door. They have emails with their names.
Screen names, on the other hand, allow us the ability to discuss things or banter around, ideas without having to reveal our identity. That's great for guys like me as we surf various porn sites, and its not bad for use as an unofficial way to banter around ideas.
However--when you sit back and throw out p1ss, vingegar, and hate...be it at management, the union, or the neighbors down the street you secretly hate, the noise and tone of your arguments lose something when you hide behind a screen name.
Orlando has a tough job. He followed a generally well liked, tough, no nonsense CP. Its always tough to follow someone who was a success. The best thing for a new commander in the military is to follow one who failed--you look good by comparison. For Jack's shortcomings, he communicated regularly, wasn't afraid to speak his mind, and generally seemed pretty well respected by the crew force. O has come in during less positive times in the company, and followed PC, who was trying to get his arms around the job left by Bruce Cheevers. I'm not here to praise or condemn any decisions made by any of those guys--but I am here to point out its a pretty tough job.
Now--the union guys also face a similar issue. Spears and face shots are expect--you don't sign up for this expecting a fan club. However, when someone is man enough to speak or write to you and sign their name it carries more weight. I have agree with you on some issues along the way--probably still do. What I will say, however, is always "calling someone out" behind an anonymous name is a bit tiresome.
Len makes 300k because the company says he should. He can hold WB captain but decided to roll into the office and take on some of those challenges. Personally--I'd rather do hub turns, eat my mini snak, and go about my business--but then again like Len I raised my hand and said "I can do better than that..." Len and I may be on opposite ends of the negotiating table, but we are both FDX pilots, and both of us are trying to work to (in our own ways) to work through this current downturn.
My advice? If you got a beef with these guys--go ask them or tell them. I did....I was pretty PO'd at my union for decisions, actions, and the tone of their comm with me so I told them. Then I jumped in. O and Len didn't get hired off the street to their jobs--they worked up through union offices, training jobs, LCA postions, etc. Don't like things...start fixin' 'em.
I don't know how much overhead it takes to run FDX, but I'll tell you this. I've been out for 2 surgeries since I've been here, and recently made a short notice call to my ACP to ask for help getting off a trip to help my mom recover from surgery. Every time I've needed help here I've gotten it from these guys. SOBs ought to be paying me the same fare I they pay when I deviate, and they need to pay more money for the HKG guys, and a host of other little things--but I also have seen this team bend over backwards for some guys when they needed it (me included).
As for O...geez....he's a former Bonehead (95FS) and a former Eagle driver. When he says he is working to adjust costs but not furloughing...I believe him. I still watch the company under the watchful eye of ALPA EF&A, Scott Stratten, and a host of other folks--but maybe what the EXTRA CP is doing is trying to help figure out a way to keep folks working and keep the crew force employed in a turubulent time.
So--frustrated with the contract, or training...vent on. Maybe someone here (me included) can help you.
Wanna call out a fellow pilot hiding behind a mask? I got nothing for you... I think you are aiming at the wrong target. These guys want to keep you around...if only to F with you....but they don't want you on the street.

No time...gotta get back over to the "hot chicks looking for 40+ year old slightly fat balding ex-fighter pilots with an inflated sense of self importance" website and message board. I gotta tell you...those chicks ROCK....and they all dig me.

Albie, wait until you are 50+ years old and you have thinning hair. Your ego will be so big it'll bust open all by itself like an overripe tomatoe. But thank goodness you did not used to fly the F-18. Those Hornet guys are the worst!
They actually believe they are God's gift to women and the humanity.
