fbh No he's not. These protesters, while slamming UPS this week will be the same ones that will be kissing up to UPS when we start to hire. Hypocrites are what they are. |

No, the Astar group needs to do the above.

Actaully, I would not picket UPS because I would just be waisting my time. I say that because I know UPS. I know they don't care. For the most part, Atlanta could care less about their own labor groups. What makes you think they care about yours? I wish you the best of luck, but as someone ealier said, they will probably videotape and identify everyone who is there. That's UPS for ya.

Hardly. No matter how many Brown ends up hiring, there are 1100 pilots that are going to be out of work. In this economy, most likely for good. Your hiring numbers will be far, far less than that. If it were you instead of us, you'd be picketing, and trying everything you could to throw a wrench in this deal. To imply you wouldn't is to be lying to yourself. Like many of you have said all along, "it's companies making these decisions, not the pilots". So, what do you care if we picket or not? The answer is you shouldn't. We're picketing the company, not the pilots.
Lets just say that you guys are successful in derailing this deal. Now what? Do you really expect DHL to come to you and ABX and say Ok, lets forget what happened the last few months and go on like nothing happened? The fact is that DHL is losing BILLIONS doing business the way they currently are. They MUST change. No government, civic group or labor group can FORCE a company to stay in business to LOSE BILLIONS just to keep people employed, otherwise it would be a government public works project. If you guys succeed in your endeavor what do you think DHL will do? |

"Talk about your all-time backfires."
- Happy Gilmore I wouldn't be caught dead in that picket if I were an Astar pilot about to be looking for a job, especially since UPS will be hiring very soon. |

Don't be too hard on these guys, they are quite literally fighting for theirs lives ( or at least life styles). I don't blame them for pulling out every last trick in the book.
