ENDERS!! Geez, I almost forgot about that one! What a whitewash job that was!
Excellent rant, Tony C. Complete and concise.
I was just called yesterday and offered a draft trip. I'm a commuter so they must be getting short since they rarely call me for draft; I think the last time was over two years ago. BTW, I said no.

I agree, LIDO isn't a contract issue. And not doing your required training events could get you in some serious doo-doo. Not doing LIDO is akin to not doing your CBT, or going to RGS, or showing up for your sim.
I know change can be hard, but suck it up!!!!

I will agree, doing anything to help the company at this time could be construed as counter productive. On the other hand, I don't think the cost of paying both Jepps and LIDO adds up to much in the bigger scheme of things. I do think we benefit more than than do, near term in not having to carry/revise these hated pubs. Its like shooting ones self in the foot, to make a point.

BTW I did the LIDO stuff right away anyway (minimal effort involved--helps us as much/more than them), I don't fly a bit of extra time anymore (guilty until the Enders cover-up slapped some sense into me), I refuse to sell back vacation (my family and my health appreciate that), and my standing bid also has the left seat of the 737 at the top and bottom.
Another two cents' worth...?
All facets of the contract and the ongoing negotiations are about conducting business. I have done and will continue to do my job 100% ... professionally, to the best of my ability and IAW "the golden rule." If only my employer would acknowledge my efforts/contributions by finally 'doing business' with me (via my Negotiating Committee). Is that too much to ask from "One of the Top __ Companies to Work For?" And how long ago did they scrap their own PSP philosophy? (Another rhetorical question, I know.)
FedEx is a great company doing incredibly well financially.
They can easily afford ALL of our openers -- without question.
OK ... done preaching a bit, now back to my place in the choir!

How do you change what's under your screen name from "New Hire" to "On Reserve" to "Line Holder" to "Gets Weekends Off" etc. etc.?
Mine went from "New Hire" to "On Reserve" without any input from me (and I picked the "Line Holder" for the caption below the picture).
I'm confused (and I'm neither a new hire or a reserve guy). What gives here? Any help would be appreciated....

Confused. .that is. . on another forum to which I belong, you start out as 'Plebe' and progress through Ensign . .. CDR . . to Fleet Admiral (it is more fun to post there
) . .and it is all based upon the same criterion they use here. The 'number of posts' an individual can wrack up. Keep on writing . .pretty soon you can 'get weekends off' . .sort of like 'seniority', eh? Pretty sure there is a LINK around someplace that will take you to the 'rules of engagement' page

Do 100% of your LIDO CBT.
Fly 100% of your BLG.
Use 100% of your vacation.
Enjoy 100% of your days off.
Take 0% draft
Sell 0% of your vacation.
Give 100% of your buddies who do otherwise a hard time for being idiots.
