Financial wizard? Well, gosh, thanks. But, I wouldn't go that far. My current plan is to just keep investing until it's all gone.

Yep but this might have given them an extra boost.

Wasn't the fact that Fedex booted them off the last contract a primary cause of ATA filing Chpt 11?

Might have been. But ATA screwed the pooch long before that.

If ATA would have merged with America West instead of that SWA 'code share' deal ... there MIGHT have been a future.

but what exactly does ATA have to do with the FDX govt contract ?

no, if ATA was still around they would have had to switch to the other team with World, North American and split the awarded share of that teams DOD contract - they were supposed to move October 1st - new fiscal year for the federal government

Hey guys,

I've got a great position on some llamas and a couple of jajoba bean farms you can use your money from your optioneer accounts to invest in these exciting financial vehicles. Just send your certified funds or cash to Airline pilot investments INC.. Pilots helping pilots throw away money on "How could you possibly lose money on this?" scams since the Wright brothers first turned a prop!!

Speaking of good investment advice for pilots:

This is called the 401-K(eg) Plan.

Retirement plans compared...

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.

With Enron, you would have $16.50 left of the original $1000.

With WorldCom, you would have less than $5.00 left.

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Delta Air Lines stock you would have $49.00 left.

If you had purchased United Airlines, you would have nothing left.

But, if you had purchased $1000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for recycling, you would have $214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
