FDX VTO Lines

FDX VTO Lines
Quick question before I call the union. I made it clear on my request that I wanted a reserve line. At least two pilots junior to me were awarded reserve lines on their VTO lines, I was not. There was no VAC conflict, no c/o conflict, or any other issues I could see. Does anyone have any ideas on how something like this could happen?

VTO's are supposed to be built in line number order not by seniority. Reserve VTO lines will not be created until all trips are assigned. If you want reserve bid the lines in reverse order. That way all the trips are assigned before they get to you.

I figured there was a reason u didn't bid a reserve line, but I was being a smarty. U must live in Mem. It's incredible how reserve goes senior now. That of course will change when we go from 500 over manned to 500 pilots short.

Then you need to bid the VTO's in reverse order. Straight from the mouth to me from MS, no r-days assigned until all of the trips are gone. Bid in reverse order and then just hope you don't get hosed. It is a BS system but it is what it is in our CBA. More fine print that we bought into. I spoke to the union and they said he was right.

I can't swear to it under the new contract, but in the past VTO were awarded in Senority order. If the #1 guy bid VTO line #50 he still got his first choice. So you would get lines before reserve no matter what you request if lines are ava.
