Short,
Biggs mind works faster than his hands at times......

When politicians go around quoting things like the Sherman Act, when there is not even an a contract on the table should tell you that it is just that....politicians getting FREE publicity...election year or not! Something else will pop up (financial, energy, war......) and you will see the politicians chasing the cameras, forgetting all about your case because there is nothing else they can do (or so they say)!!

Companies and managers protect themselves when they start losing money. The workers get screwed!!!!
Bad for everyone when anyone in this business loses (potentially) their job.

Best of luck to you guys!

Just close it down, screw the US Gov and then when DHL has no US division, then contract UPS to do it. I bet you money after the election they will make a announcment that they are closing the doors and several months later that they are contracting UPS to do it, and ooh theirs nothing anyone can do since it's now a German company, with no US Division making a contract with a us company. These guys are not dumb, they will work around this political crap storm to get it done. It may take alittle more time, money and they may loose some customers but it still gets done.

Spot on. My deepest regrets to those placing their trust in political solutions, but it will teach you a valuable lesson for future reference.

Where are all of the pilot lawyers? The Senators letter points to let the courts hear the issue. The longer DHL keeps pushing this and the DHL workers and politicians oppose it the more businesses stop using DHL and pick up FedEx and UPS.

And "best of luck to you guys" from me to. Not because of the businesses DHL is losing. Your outcome is the same both ways. I hope you can get them to change their minds before all of the business leaves.

That's almost funny. Just like all the Senators who came out and yesterday saying the 700 Billion bailout was a "done deal". You guys actually believe anything these guys say? As someone else said, it's all about getting on CNN and FOX, nothing more, nothing less. I tell you what though, we all may be screwd when the next depression hits.

Nobody is placing any trust in political solutions, we're placing our trust in the law. That's all we've got.

Oh, and your support too...LOL. We can tell you don't care if we lose our jobs so don't patronize us.

Keep in mind, only two senators signed that letter, and one of them was junior senator Sherrod Brown from Ohio.

According to Reuters, "A UPS spokesman responded that the arrangement is a "straight vendor contract" rather than a merger, and thus is not subject to antitrust review."

I suggest you use up all your sick time and vacation. I also suggest you get prepared to enter the job market again. That way, when the deal gets finalized you will be one of the ones ready to move on if you haven't already. I guarantee many pilots will do nothing, so don't be like them. Rumors are that UPS will be hiring, so make that your goal.

Get another Lawyer, the ones you have are seperating you from your money without any real effect. The next one might tell you the truth.
I do care if you lose your job, but there you go again with the hate for the only guys in the world who actually understand what you are going through, having been there ourselves. Our scoffing at the legal/political side of this is also the result of real experience.

Maybe they can build a theme park in Ohio and you can run the rides.
