5.13 FLIGHT DECK
SPEAKERS / HEADSETS
FedEx aircraft shall be operated with all
crewmembers using headsets unless
headsets are deferred in the Maintenance
Log. Below 18,000 FT MSL flight crews
use boom-MIC headsets. (FAR 121.359g).
The Captain may authorize the use of
speakers for flight operations above
18,000 FT MSL provided headsets remain
immediately available.
Personal headsets may be used if they
meet FAA requirements. Any FAA-TSO’d
type of headset of 500 ohms impedance
may be used.
