Default Headsets in cockpit

Can anyone give me info as to the wearing of non company headsets below FL 180? Considering getting one, but not sure what our company's (FDX) official view is on this. Thanks.

From the FOM

5.13 FLIGHT DECK
SPEAKERS / HEADSETS
FedEx aircraft shall be operated with all
crewmembers using headsets unless
headsets are deferred in the Maintenance
Log. Below 18,000 FT MSL flight crews
use boom-MIC headsets. (FAR 121.359g).
The Captain may authorize the use of
speakers for flight operations above
18,000 FT MSL provided headsets remain
immediately available.
Personal headsets may be used if they
meet FAA requirements. Any FAA-TSO’d
type of headset of 500 ohms impedance
may be used.

THIS one: David Clark H10-13.4 Headset - MyPilotStore.com

. . . always sets the standard of that chic, fashionable 'aviator look'.

Thanks for info. Pretty much what I thought. I always find it ironic flying with a Capt who likes to quote regs, while wearing a non-boom headset below FL 180
